Production Draft Legend

LENSES
FIVE PRIME LENSES: FOV10, FOV15, FOV25, FOV 35 and FOV50
These are the main lenses to use throughout the production, anything below FOV10 or above FOV50 are to be used as FX LENS only to maintain the value of their effectiveness.

XWA - EXTREME WIDE ANGLE
This LENS has to be accomplished with a RENDER SHADER and is too difficult to utilize (at the moment), but may be tested on this production.

WA - WIDE ANGLE
FOV50 - FOV80

TELE - TELEPHOTO
FOV5 - FOV15

ZOOM - LENS ZOOM (FOV change)
An animated FOV change on the CAMERA, mostly used in conjunction with the HANDHELD (HH) or HELICOPTER (HELI) CAMERA RIGS to replicate the effect of a actual camera operator.

COMPOSITION
XCU - EXTREME EXTREME CLOSE-UP
An EYE, the PUPIL of an EYE, a tiny computer component, etc.

ECU - EXTREME CLOSE-UP
The EYES, the MOUTH, a FINGER pushing a button, etc.
FOV10-FOV15

CU - CLOSE-UP

*unless otherwise noted: WA/CU: a CLOSE-UP using a WIDE ANGLE LENS

MCU - MEDIUM CLOSE-UP
A character CLOSE-UP that includes the character's shoulders.
*Use the CU FOV RANGE for MCU shots as well, unless otherwise noted in the Production Draft.
FOV15-FOV35

MS - MEDIUM SHOT
An upper body (or lower body) shot of a character. Useful in conjunction with a WIDE SHOT or EWS of a location to get the character and locations relationship established.
Also referred to as a COWBOY (by Western Movie Directors) because it includes the HERO and his holster in the same shot.
FOV25-FOV50

See COMPOSITION SHEETS for reference.

CAMERA POSITION
LA - LOW ANGLE
Looking up at the ACTION/CHARACTER, for ACTION SHOTS put the CAMERA right down on the ground, the floor, the track, when I say low, I mean LOW!

HA - HIGH ANGLE
Looking down onto the ACTION/CHARACTER.

POV - POINT OF VIEW
A WIDE ANGLE lens that represents the CHARACTERS perspective.

CAMERA MOVES
DOLLY
CAMERA MOVE that travels hortizontally through FRAME.

CRANE
CAMERA MOVE that travels vertically through FRAME.

PUSHIN/PULLOUT
CAMERA MOVE that travels closer (PUSHIN) or travels father away (PULLOUT) from the ACTION/CHARACTER.

ORBIT
CAMERA MOVE that encircles the ACTION/CHARACTER.

ROLL
CAMERA moves (or DUTCHES) on the FRAMES hortizontal axis.

TRACKING
Similar to the DOH CAMERA RIG, a TRACKING SHOT is a CAMERA MOVE that follows the ACTION/CHARACTER, but unlike the DOH CAMERA RIG the TRACKING SHOT may contain some or all of the above CAMERA MOVES in a variety of combinations.

CRASH ZOOM
A LENS MOVE that combines a ZOOM (FOV change) with a CAMERA MOVE that focuses on some part of the ACTION/CHARACTER.
ie. CRASH ZOOM IN, CRASH ZOOM OUT

HORROR ZOOM
A CRASH ZOOM with the added element of a CAMERA ROLL.
ie. HORROR ZOOM into MONKEY's face.

CAMERA RIGS
HH - HANDHELD
A CAMERA RIG that places the motion of a CAMERA PERSON onto the SCENE CAMERA, the camera position and interest are animated.

HELI - HELICOPTER
HH/TELE COMBO: This is a RIG/LENS combination that really emphasizes the HH motion on the CAMERA, when combined with high speed ACTION (using a DOLLY, ORBIT or TRACKING camera move) this combination produces a very effective HELICOPTER shot.
The longer the lens (lower FOV) the better.

DOH - DUKES OF HAZARD
A CAMERA (always with a WA lens) rigged to the outside of the first vehicle mentioned in the description or a group of vehicles, unless otherwise noted.
The purpose of the DOH shot is to show, 1) where the vehicle is headed and what is headed at the vehicle, or 2) what the vehicle just left behind or what is chasing the vehicle.
There is rarely another CAMERA MOVE associated with a DOH shot.
