Fly - Nickelback

WATCH VIDEO
I made this video for (then unsigned) Nickleback for the MusicWest Expo in 1997. Nickleback had a song on the soundtrack of the Canadian independent film Horsey and the video incorporated film footage intercut with performance footage of the band.
I shot the Nickleback footage in a tiny studio out at the Justice Institute of BC, using a hand-crank, spring-loaded Bolex 16mm camera; no takes over 26 seconds - so lots of slo-mo and close-ups.
I cut this video on the AVID (with the help of Craig McEwen, working simultaneously) completing the video in time to hand deliver it to the venue ten minutes before it was to air, low budget - high drama.
The video was later re-edited by my wife, Melanie Snagg, "tightening it" for broadcast.
